Cheifs

Holly-West Crisis

Dr. Strange 103

Released on March 23, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

THE CHEIFS were Huntington Beach's answer to THE CIRCLE JERKS, BLACK FLAG, GERMS, THE GEARS and the other "founding fathers" of the early Southern California Punk scene. THE CHEIFS formed in 1979 and played along side bands like: ADOLESCENTS, SOCIAL DISTORTION, AGENT ORANGE, TSOL and many others.

This CD release contains their ultra-rare and sought after 1980 7"ep Blues as well as their songs from the equally sought after comp's from 1981 Who Cares and Cracks in the Sidewalk plus unreleased stuff! 13 songs in all of truly one of the best punk rock bands to have emerged from California. The Doc is doing back-flips over this one! Great old photo's and liner notes done by the band as well as a CD Rom with a live gig from 1980. Get an education and get THE CHEIFS!

More people need to get into this band! A great early southern california punk band. I dont think there is a weak song on this record- solid. Holly-west crisis/riot squad/liberty were my favorites if I had choose. You need to choose this record.

Wow This is badass! I cant believe this band is not as popular as black flag or the adolescents because they are just as good so if that kinda music is your style then you definitely need to buy this now! best songs: Holy west crisis, liberty, and riot squad

great early 80s hardcore/beach punk. has members of the simpletones in it and sounds like it should be on poshboy. buy it if you like bands like the crowd, adolescents, agent orange and all of those old california punk bands

Classic, essential old school California punk. Not every song is great but there are some absolute killers on here. If you like all the old Beach punk(Black Flag, TSOL,the Crowd etc..) then get this motherfucker. These guys were bad ass.
