Under Suspicion

Victory 2132

Released on February 24, 2004

Madcap's "Under Suspicion," draws from 80's rock, reggae, dub and punk influences. Songs range from reggae tinged tunes with Elvis Costello vibes to dance grooves to songs about having fun instead of giving up. "Captain" Ted Hutt was brought in to produce the album. Madcap is quickly establishing themselves as one of America's definitive rock bands. Their music is earnest and brash, fueled by unbridled passion.

"Under Suspicion" is more adventuresome than their previous efforts (2001's "Stand Your Ground" and 2002's "East To West") however the urgency and the anthems remain. Where hip-hop might be the sound of the streets in the rap world, Madcap are the sound of the streets for the rock world.

This album will appeal to fans of The Clash, The Ramones, and The Jam as well as fans of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Elvis Costello.

Having already owned the other 2 Madcap records, well I hafta say this is different. The other ones have more of a street-punk feel and might be a little more edgey but this record is very well done and very good. Madcap open new doors with this one because they have moved a little further from the street-punk feel of Stand Your Ground and have gotten a little closer to maybe early NEW-WAVE/punk. good cd but there other 2 are better because well the other 2 are some of the best records already. I suggest buying Stand Your Ground first then maybe look @ this. I GIVE THIS ONE 5 STARS

Their best album ever, sounds a bit different cause this band has growed up. The CD contains an extra track called Jimmy The Saint only playable in the computer.

This album is much better than previous efforts, but that isn't saying much. There are about three really good songs on it, the rest isn't worth listening to.
