A Thorn For Every Heart

Silence Is Golden

Thornz 1

Released on December 30, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Vibrant, emotionally intense, post-hardcore, indie/emo rock w/violins. Sounds like a cross between Thursday, Glassjaw, Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Finch and A Static Lullaby. Independently releasing their debut EP, Silence Is Golden has seven songs full of sick breakdowns, sick guitar, and melodic screams. For fans of Every Time I Die and Thursday.

This CD is pretty awesome. It's your standard outfitting of screaming/singing, but there's a girl who plays a violin to spice things up a bit. The music is good and the lyrics are solid. Next of Kin is hands down the best song and is one of the better songs out there in general. Definitely give this a try if you like Thursday and Thrice and the like. Good buy.

This is a very solid EP to debut with. The singer has a great voice and an awesome scream. Nothing fantastically original but if you like Emery, FSF, etc type stuff then this is for you. They do it better than a lot of bands because of the voice and the scream. The lyrics definetly arent lacking either. Watch out for this band, they could be the next big thing.

This is a really great cd. Combine the vocals of Thursday, the screaming of Story of The Year and the violin and you have the general idea of their sound. This cd really surprised me. I cant wait to hear a full length from these guys.

not to good, sounds like yellow card wanting to be thursday. the singer needs to learn to belt out his scream. the band as a whole needs to not depend on the violin so much and step it up in the guitar department.

After downloading three songs off of this album already, I sorta knew what to expect, but they were actually a little bit more yelly than I thought they could be. Not that it's a bad thing though. "Next of Kin" is definitely the best song on here, but "Rain on Her Parade" is really good too. A few songs get kinda weird at points and they do some different things with the singer, so I guess that's really the only rag on the album. Good incorporation of violin sounds and such, it brings more into the songs throughout the CD. I would say that ATFEH is a cross between Cursive and The Beautiful Mistake, though with their own unique styler. Solid release, I'll look into the band for their upcoming releases.
