Oval Portrait

Life In Death

(Features Guest Appearances From Members Of My Chemical Romance, Murder By Death)

Eyeball 33

Released on November 25, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

From the darkness of the chateau's remotest turret comes northern New Jersey's The Oval Portrait. ‘Life In Death’ is a hauntingly aggressive 13 track masterpiece. Vin Adrizzone's raw and visceral lyrics about death and serial killers coupled with the band's darkly urgent melodies will make you want to sleep with one eye open! Also features a guest appearance from Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance and members of Murder by Death. Think Shellac meets Ink And Dagger. This is indeed life itself...she was dead!

i was a little dissapointed...BUT Oval Portrait is still a very talented band, indeed. A little less organized than my tastes. It's on Eyeball...and nothing bad has ever come out of that record company!

It's ok. It sounds like the banner or my chemical romance at band practice on a bad day. The last and first songs or awesome, but otherwise, it isn't so great. Sloppy and haphazard, their music definitely doesn't blend with the mediocre vocals. Get it burned, you'll want it but don't waste your money paying for the real deal.

this cd is frigun awesome another example of tri state area music at it's best...the fact that probably no one knows this band makes it better...i've recomended this cd to a lot of people and they were impressed. Oval Portrait rawks buy this cd...support this band...cuz at this point they are still on the local scene...with gerrard from my chemical romance making a guest appearance on the cd... hell yeah buy it

This CD is awesome. I hardly ever give 5s here but this deserves it. Its pretty original with awesome lyrics and spooky interludes. Its tough to make a comparision but I guess if you took My Chemical Romance and intensified them and made them scarier you would get the Oval Portrait. This is a musical masterpiece. Buy it.

i was very disapointed with this album...with all the hype and "work" that went into this album and with the help of all these eyeball bigwigs, this album tottally let me down. it would have been mediocore 5 years ago. and listening to it makes me spell worse.
