I was hoping for Vindictives done in an industrial/techno style and was instead given Vindictives' melodies banged out on a $15 Casio keyboard. I can't enjoy this album other than in an ironic way, and who has time for that? I played it once, I doubt I'll listen to it a second time.

If you are a hardcore Vindictives fan, you might think these versions of the songs are interesting the first time you listen to them, but then you'll probably never listen to it again because it sucks. I have every Vindictives record ever, and i just got this to have a complete set of Vindictives releases. That's really the only reason to get this.

This is a real treat for long time Vindictives fans. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but since this band was active, in the early 90s, my musical tastes have matured and grown significantly. This is what makes this album so much fun. All it is are classic Vindictives songs re-done in an electronic/ ambient/ synth pop style. They took the songs and put all the names in German, which appears to be some kind of joke or mock to the popularity of dance and electronic music in Germany. That also adds to part of the fun as you need to listen in on the keyboard melody to be able to figure out what Vindictives song is being played. This will not be enjoyed by new comers to the band. It really pays to be VERY familiar with "the Many Moods of" and "Hypno Punko" albums before attacking this one. I've been a long time Vindictives fan and this is further proof that they are one of the most talented and under appreciated bands of the '90s. While bands like Screeching Weasel and the Queers have made long careers by releasing mediocre albums and worthless collection CDs after being well past their prime, the Vindictives shine above all as true artists with real originality. If you've been a fan since the '90s this CD is essential!!
