Crime In Stereo

Explosives And The Will To Use Them

Blackout/Brightside 68

Released on January 6, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

The debut album from Long Island's newest favorite sons. "Explosives... " is a nut kickin' mix of old school youth-crew and more modern melodic hardcore styles. Think somewhere between Brand New, The Movielife, Kill Your Idols and Gorilla Biscuts. A Brightside/Blackout co-release.

This Crime In Stereo's debut full length (to my best knowledge) and its really good and worth the money. Fast medlodic Hardcore/Punk. Best track is definitely "Amsterdamned!"

I dont really have a favorite Crime In Stereo CD, but I don't recommend this first to a new lister. I'd recomend "The Contract" EP.

My only complaint about this CD is that I kinda got into the catchy Crime In Stereo, like their new stuff. The music and lyrics are great, but the lyrics don't stick..the kinda just flow and don't hook. Not really memorable, with the exception of the gang vocals which are also awesome. Still a great CD though so buy it if your a CIS fan.

This is definately one of the better bands in the last couple years. I'm not sure if it's considred hardcore, but it's absolutely not emo or metalcore or like any of the Hot Topic type bands that are flooding the Warped Tour and MTV. The closest bands I could compare them to are Comeback Kid, Good Riddance, and the Movielife, but I still don't think anyone sounds like Crime In Stereo. Standout tracks are Here's To Things Gone Wrong and Arson At 563.

This cd is ok, there are some songs on here that are great, but mostly its gets kinda old after awhile. I gave it three stars because this band has more potential that I hope will come out as they grow. The guitarists are pully off some pretty cool stuff, but mostly its the vocals that you get tired of, it all seems to blend in to one big song cause it all sounds the same. I look forward to the future, I think this band can do much better than this, they have the ability, lets just see if it happens.

This CD is awesome. I recently heard of Crime In Stereo and i am glad i did. They play amazing, fast melodic Hardcore with an edge. All the songs are good, and have something memorable whether it is a riff or a lyric. I can not reccomend this cd enough. It is perfection.

Can't in good conscience recommend this one. It really isn't all that great. I love Lifetime, Kid Dynamite and Gorilla Biscuits, but this just doesn't compare. Guy's voice is pretty dry, lyrics could definately be better, and the music is redundant. But that's just my opinion, so who gives a shit, right?

Thank you CRIME IN STEREO, for taking me back to the day when bands like REACH THE SKY, LIFETIME, KID DYNAMITE, and even the GORILLA BISCUITS were around...this is great hardcore punk rock...melodic, but not sappy, aggressive yet not over the top...this will definitely be a springtime favorite.

crime in stereo is one of the most impressive hardcore acts i've heard in quite some time. if you like hardcore acts such as lifetime and with honor, as well as the melodics of the movielife and the drunkeness of hot water music, then crime in stereo is for you. be sure to check out the songs "compass and square", "here's to things gone wrong", and "if you think we're talking about you, we are" for an idea of what this groundbreaking hardcore act sounds like.
