Minor Threat played one of its last shows at the Washington DC's 930 club in June of 1983 (they would only play once more in DC). Their performance was video taped for a documentary about the local punk scene, but the documentary project fell apart and the tapes were left on the shelf. Two years later the tapes of the 9:30 show were edited together and Dischord Records released the results as the 'Minor Threat Live' video in 1986.
In 2002, Dischord starting working on releasing the 9:30 show on DVD, which involved going back to the source tape and cleaning up the picture and sound, as well as finding other materials.
Along with the 40 minute 9:30 performance, the DVD includes a 35 minute video of a 1982 Minor Threat show in Camden, NJ, a 12 minute clip of Minor Threat's second ever show (DC Space, December 1980), and excerpts from a 1983 interview with the vocalist, Ian MacKaye.

I really liked there last show at the 9:30 club. The DVD insert rules it has lyrics so you can follow along with the best songs written in hardcore history!

What the hell am I going to say? This is a great DVD and i don't care if Ian's questions and answers are seperate. I have seen some other video online that is comparable or better quality but this is a great document of one of the finest bands to spring out of that whole hardcore scene in the early 80's. If the straight edge thing is a little too much for you get this and the Chachi On acid/Hated Principles split 7" that is available here and spin Straight Edge Drinking Party a few times to balance your mind out. GREAT DVD!

Dude Minor Threat!!! The best HarDCore band ever!!! They put on an awesome show too..even though no one born after the 70's will ever get to see them. :( So anyways, at the first venue, it's really pointless to watch, cuz it's all blurry, and hard to focus - but the music's good. The second venue was a good show, and the whole thing that Ian punched some dude in his face - he mostly slapped his neck or something, I paused it and looked close. And it's really fun to watch the kids do stupid stuff, me and my friends do that cuz we can make fun of anything... The last venue is the best though. Even though at the beginning Ian keeps saying about some dude outside with a gun or something...me and my friends can't figure out if he's being a smart ass or not, (I am :P) he's hard to figure out. Anyways, the interview is annoying cuz it shows all the questions first, then after you go through like all 20, Ian then answers them. It's cool to watch Ian on stage, (he owned it) - the rest of the band just stands there...that's what a Dead Kennedys' show looks like, (Jello Biafra owns too). Anyways, get this! UP THE PUNX!!!

Oh how I wish I was at those shows to see them, they were just amazing, Ian Mackaye is simply god, but what I loved about Minor Threat were the guitar riffs.

Overall this is a good dvd. The DC Space parts is really crappy but the other 2 shows are killer. The interview is cut into 2 parts one with Q's and the other with A's but overall a good dvd.

This DVD's pretty good! The DC Space part is really shitty and you could hardly make out whats goin on. But Buff Hall and the 9:30 Club footage is really good. The interview with Ian is really weird. You have to watch the interviewer asking questions. Then watch another section of Ian giving his answers. But anyways, it's your only alternative to see Minor Threat live. So buy it!!!!!!!

I was kind of disappointed with this DVD because of the poor quality of it. Whilst it shows the original tapes of some shows, the recording itself is totally awful (which goes without saying because of the technology present at the time). The interview with Ian is split into 2 seperate takes: Questions and Answers, which again is frustrating.
