Death Cab for Cutie

Barsuk 31032.2

Released on October 7, 2003

The highly anticipated fourth album from Seattle's grace-pop kings is a major work, blending subtle songwriting and amazing production with the band's boundless creativity, and thoughtful rock. More consistent with their live energy, Transatlanticism showcases BEN GIBBARD's trademark love-and-loss lyrics like never before.

Fantastic album, far better than any of their albums before it. Just as good as Plans, if not better. Perfect mellow rock, it's just awesome. These guys are amazing song writers. If you like DCFC and you don't have this, you must get it.

I'm not sure this cd can be realisticly described as overrated. I bought it last summer and it's battling with Deja Entendu as my favorite cd. I love getting a cd and finding out that I can listen to the whole thing all the way through without getting bored, losing interest, or thinking its all just one long 40 minute song. This cd accels musically and lyrically, and it's one of the only ones I can not feel ripped off by because of its outrageous price.

This is by far my best purchase of the passing year. DCfC make wonderful music. their lyrics are heartful, real and witty. this is their best realease yet. personal fave tracks are "The New Year", "Tiny Vessels", "We Looked Like Giants" and "Title And Registration".

great album, very easy listening, superb songwriting, lyrics are deadly, and a voice of spring-freshness. fabulous cd.

look. i don't care that this album had huge media coverage through " the OC " or whatever. i appreciate bands as soft as "the weakerthans" and as hard as "every time I die" and this album reduces me to a pile of emotional mush every time. the production quality is excellent, the musicianship is PHENONIMINAL and to boot it makes you feel really chill..... i would recommend this album to anyone. seriously. from someone why has seem both ends of the spectrum, deach cab is AMAZING. buy it now. and also, if you like this one, go buy "give up" by the postal servece....which has the same lead singer, dumbass......
