Thought Riot were one of the better bands on A-F Records. Sounds like a mix of old AFI and Pipedown. Fast, energetic and melodic, this album is a political one, so if you're not too into political music you might want to avoid this one. Also pick up Shattered Mirror Syndrome as well.

I heard "you're gunna die" on Rock against Bush Vol. 2 and "With Love, The Underground" somewhere else, and i loved both songs so i purchased the disc. All i can say is that if you love those two songs, you are gunna love this CD, hands down. And if you havent heard those two songs, then think of them as a mix of old AFI (before they got gay with sing the sorrow), comeback kid, and The Unseen. Good Disc...

I have not taken this cd out of the player yet. As a matter of fact I am listening to it right now as I am typing this review. I can't get enough of it. I love the political side of this band. This cd rocks, from the time you put it in to the time you hit replay. This is one of those cd where all the songs dont sound the same. I repeat they dont sound the same. If I had to rate this cd, one out of five, I would give it a...........TEN!!!! Please buy this cd and you wont be disappointed. For fans of Unseen, early Rise Against, and early AFI.

I had first heard of Thought Riot on the Rock Against Bush, Vol. 2 compilation. I immediately began to check into the band further. I got some of their songs from their MySpace and whatnot and began listening to those constantly. I desperately searched for their CDs. For months I went with no avail and finally decided to just order it online. It was a great decision that I had put off for too long. This band is rather amazing. They play a good quasi-dark sounding brand of punk. I really love some of the hardcore-esque anthemic chants they bring to the table. The political message behind the lyrics just makes it all that much more meaningful. I gave it a four, the only thing that kept it from getting a five was the song "Homeland Insecurities". I just personally can't dig that song like I can the rest of the record. That aside, this record is 100% amazing. I really recommend it to everyone.

It's taken a long time for me to write this review. I have been reading the reviews other people have written, and I have nothing new to say...
I don't know if I like this one better than "Shattered mirror syndrome". I have been listening to it since it came out and I haven't been able to pick a favorite. The sound quality in this one is better though, specially the drumming.
My favorite song is either "Walking stick for the weak" or "Glenview", but I like all of the songs. My favorite part of the cd is a bit from "Ink soaked pages" (the bit that goes 'Piercing orbs do shine [...] we all fall down!!').
I give it 5 stars because after almost a year I still listen to this cd every time I can. I still like it.
That'll be all. Take care.

i love thought riot. i got this cd like 3 months ago with their first one. this is one of my top 3 fav bands. they know how to rock legit. I havent decided which cd i like better... this one has more variety in the songs and is more complex, the other is a little more intense. This band is straight original. they use pure talent and music knowledge to write ood solid songs. thought riot is not afi. thought riot is not "the next afi". thoughtriot is thought riot. the music is way different, the singers are both very talented and have a solid clean singing voice. thats y people say they are the exactly like old afi, but they arent at all. they do have some dark sounds that are rad tho. quality punk taken to a talented melodic rocking level.
