Final full length from Youth Of Today. Power driven music. Definetely positive lyrics. Ray Cappo and co. pack an excellent punch with this one. Not bad. Not their best either, but never their worst.

Don't listen to that fool a few reviews below me, though he means well he knows not what he does. This album is a hardcore classic, it is the greatest hardcore album ever created. Hell naw son, don't give me any bullshit I've heard most of the top hardcore albums and this takes the fucking cake, all I can say to haters:
"sit and spin bitch"

Youth of Today is looked at as one of the most influential bands in the hardcore scene, but to be honest they're not that good. For some reason I've grown tired of this type of music and even bands like Bold who I've praised weeks ago in a review seems to have gotten boring to me. I would have to say that if you like the old school straight edge stuff get Wide Awake's 25 Song Discography and Gorilla Biscuits Start Today because they're much better than Youth of Today.

Not the best of them but very good. They know how to clearly make a statement and are just fucking great. Definetly a great Straight Edge band. Get this.

another great classic straight edge hardcore album. they just don't make straight edge music or hardcore period like this anymore. another band who's members ranged from 15-22 when this recording was done. i like everything this band stands for. a little more preachier and stronger stance than gorilla biscuits, but a great band nonetheless. walter schreifels who wrote the songs, and played guitar for gorilla biscuits plays bass on this album, and does an excellent job on here as well. sammy siegler was only 15 years old when this recorded, but he was, and still is one the best drummers out there in my opinion. it's sad that most of todays hardcore is tough guy in your face macho bullshit. youth of today had their preachy side, but they were still a unique band, and still leave a mark on hardcore and straight edge today. favorite song is live free. more of a political type song, but the lyrics are my favorite, and an important message being brought to light. flame still burns, slow down, put it aside, a time we'll remember, and prejudice are also other favorites. cappo's vocals might tend to get annoying to some people at times, but still a great vocalist. i think i like this better than ''break down the walls'' but a very classic album that no straight edge kid should be without. if you think your embrace today album is so powerful, and haven't heard youth of today then what the fuck are you waiting for?

Nowhere near as amazing or intense as "Positive Outlook", but a grand listen nonetheless. You probably won't catch yourself listening to this one once a week, be wary. So if your just getting into Youth of Today or into the whole scene, pick up Positive Outlook. Also check out Bold for more NYC HxC.

This is a great c.d. If you're a fan of HxC at all, then you should buy this freakin c.d. because you won't regret it. It's a lot better than that emo stuph and it's also a lot better that a lot of the new hardcore out today. Now, Hatebreed and Snapcase are good I reccommend them too, but if you want some GREAT HxC, I reccommend some older stuph(minor threat, sick of it all, gorilla biscuits, black flag, especially this c.d.) Standout tracks on this c.d. are Slow Down, Wake Up & Live, and Potential Friends. Sooooo, buy the c.d., 'coz I know you'll love it(I listened to it for like a week straight)and don't stop a rockin'!! -Alex
