This would be a 5 star, but then it would be impossible to give Start Today an even higher rating. Positive lyrics, great music. Throw down your hard earned bucks on this one, people.

Gorilla Biscuits holds 2 titles. Most overrated "hardcore" band of all time. Most overrated straight edge band of all time. I bought "start today" after someone recommended it to me and when I told them I was extremely dissappointed with it and that it was a sorry excuse for hardcore, they told me to buy their debut cd because it's actually good hardcore music.Regretfully,I eventually listened to them and bought this cd,now I'm stuck with 2 cds that equal the musical and lyrical equivalent of a long, drawn out fart.
If you like this cd,buy brotherhood by D.Y.S.!

This is a classic record for two reasons: the first being that it has the songs prior to Start Today on it. "Hold Your Ground" and "Big Mouth" are both good enough reasons to own this. The second are all of Civ's voice cracks. I'm not sure if he was doing it on purpose or if it was just his young voice at the time. Either way, it's quite funny to hear voice cracks in songs that are suppose to sound tough. Check it out.

this album spoke straight to my heart. the day before i got this cd in the mail was shitty as hell, i had a panic attack and all the regular bad shit that happens. but then i got this cd in the mail and the first song was high hopes. there could have not been a more perfect song to lift my spirits at the time. i will never forget that. i haven't even finished listening to the whole cd yet and it is fucking great. any true punk fans out there should have this in there collection, it is as relevant today as it was back then. do yourself a favor and pick this one up

When I listen to this, I just believe some parts are so universally applicable. There's a lot of amazing hardcore riffs with raging mosh parts, on this. The CD even has a cover of The Buzzcocks "Sittin' Round At Home", NYHC style. Gorilla Biscuits are one of the few bands that laid the foundation down for hardcore music. They join Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Black Flag, as being one of the best in the genera.
