This is a really great double EP. The first EP is classic fast hardcore punk while the second EP is more gloomy sounding and slower. I like the harder stuff better, but Weathered Statues is still good stuff. This is definitely worth the money it's selling on here for.

The first 7" by TSOL is a classic: early 80's hardcore punk at its best. "Weathered statues" has some gothic influences (kinda like "Only theater of pain"-era Christian Death) but is still a very solid punk 7". All in all a great CD!

The first 7" is early, primal US hardcore punk with those screeching dissonant riffs that we have all come to know and love from the Dead Kennedys and Black Flag. Very "snotty" vocal delivery, and that actually suits the band. Choice cut on this one is definitely "Abolich Government/Silent Majority". Classic, pissed off stuff.

"Weathered Statues" blasts off with a hardcore trialblazer that kinda reminds me of the Circle Jerks but that's as far as the speed thing goes on this here slab o' classic nastiness. The titeltrack is very laid back, sad trippy stuff with clean vox. But hell, it works (well, apart from the last track which almost sounds like a ska-tune). As far as I'm concerned, this is all you need from TSOL, but than again (if you like early US hardcore/punk) YOU NEED THIS!!!

great. just great. Abolish Government and Weathered Statuses are the best songs on here. Property Is Theft got tiring, but over all, a great cd. Also, Weathered Statuses is a creepy song so don't listen to it when you're half asleep/dozin off.

Weathered Statues is one of T.S.O.L.'s Greatest achievements. I just listened to this album for the first time in about 16 years (vinyl then cd now) and this band just stands the test of time. Songs like "Abolish Government/Silent Majority" and "Superficial Love" still ring true today. If you love old school punk you will love this. I agree with BJ, If you want to listen to real punk get this and burn all your Sum 41, Blink 182, and any other top of the charts "Kiddie Punk" Shit! This has a message and it forces you to listen! BUY IT NOW!

TSOL...what can I say except that they're probably my favorite old school band. If you listen to any old-school at all you'll probably love this if you don't already own it. If you don't like them you're probably one of those poser punks that listens to New Found Garbage that sounds like backstreet Boys with a guitar player that play's cheesy little MTV guitar riffs that put them up in the top 50 spot with Madonna or somebody else that deserves to get cancer and die. Moral of the story buy this cd and wash away the sins of you're Sum 41 past.

All right, what can I say, I love TSOL. I love the TSOL with Jack Grisham, not the other crap when they had no original members. So if you want great cds and you're a TSOL fan, pick this up along with Dance with Me, Disappear, Live, Thoughts Of Yesterday and Beneath the Shadows. All of which are great, fast, unique cds.
