This is a fantastic album, top to bottom. It's not only hard-hitting musically, but lyrically as well. I love every song on here with the exception of 'Anchorless'.
For anyone who is wondering whether they should purchase this or just download the album illegally, there are a few reasons why getting this is definitely worthwhile:
First, it has the unabridged version of the lyrics printed on the back. I say 'unabridged' because they don't actually sing all of the lyrics printed on the back, but they are interesting to check out. The fact they print them on the back frees up the insert too, which they use to print a series of mini-manifestos on such topics as feminism and religion. It's pretty interesting shit. Also, they give a number of periodicals to check out and a list of activist organizations that they are affiliated with...all good and interesting information.
Second, I've been listening to these songs for quite awhile, but when I plopped the LP on my turntable and started listening there is a noticeably better sound quality. If you don't believe me, compare the clean guitar picking part from "...And we thought that nation-states were a bad idea" on the LP to most mp3s rips. It sounds a hundred times better.
Oh, and one more thing, they mention on the back that a "portion of the proceeds from this recording goes to People Acting for Animal Liberation, Food Not Bombs, AK Press and the Winnipeg Naturopathic Clinic."
So there, you now have several reasons to buy this LP and not just stick with your downloaded crap. Fuck yeah.
