I suddenly had a craving for early 90's punk and this one is a classic.
If you've never heard it, you're probably not reading this.
It's also nice that the classics of the 90's can be bought dirt cheap now.

As with most punk / hardcore bands debut records people are most common to say, " their 1st record is their best..." as much as i disagree with that sentiment i cannot deny the fact that most of my favorite gr songs are on this release... Songs like "united cigar", "decoy", "all fall down" and "america flies 1st class" solidify this band as great song writers with brilliant lyrics. This album was a call to arms for a series of amazing records. Give gr the respect they deserve.

I love GR (Symptoms of a Leveling Spirit, Operation Phoenix and Bound by Ties of Blood and Affection are amazing albums), but I was HUGELY disappointed with this album. To be honest, it just sucks. It's poppy and boring and I haven't found a song on it that I like yet. I know that GR can do much better than this, so I was so horrified to find that I spent money on a CD that I seriously CANNOT listen to. Do yourself a favor and buy one of the aforementioned CDs, but certainly not this one. The only reason that I gave it 2 stars was because I like and respect Good Riddance for the most part.

These guys suck cause they're on a major label like fat.
...just kidding, I'm not that self-richious.
This is probalby the best Good Riddance album. The only problem I found with this album is that it sounds a bit like Bad Religion... but Bad Religion doesn't totally suck so that's okay. Good Album, Timmy Like.

this cd rocked!! i've heard that OPERATION PHEONIX is the best G.R. album, but since i don't have that one (yet), this one is my favorite. flies first class and mother superior are my favorites, but there really isn't a bad song on this cd (except maybe trak 3). anyways, do yourself a favor and buy this AWESOME release from an AWESOME band. this one's way better than SYMPTOMS and a little better than COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE and BALLADS. piece, and long live G.R.!!

i'm a hard guy to please with hardcore. To be honest I'm more of a pop punk guy. But this is different. it boasts pop and hardcore, blended to perfection. However, Im still not a huge fan of it. The singer's vvoice is just ok. He needs to stop with the hardcore, BLAH! singing. Don't get me wrong, if you like that stuff you would love this. Im just not a huge fan of it.

Good Riddance have always been one of my all-time favourite punk/melodic hardcore bands. "For God & Country" is yet another reason and example of why I like 'em soo fuckin much!
My only beef with this record is that Sean Sellers wasn't drumming for Good Riddance when "For God & Country" was released, and, being a fellow-drummer, I happen to LOVE Sean Sellers's drumming style! Yet, "For God & Country" totally blew me away with incredible tracks like "Mother Superior", "All Fall Down", and "Lisa". Personally, my favourite Good Riddance album is "Ballads..", but "For God & Country" really packs a punch that you can't help but wince at and admire such brute strength in song composing. It's a VERY energetic punk rock record that is EXCELLENT to skate/drive to and I would STRONGLY recommend that if you and your cronies are ever going to a punk/hardcore show, regardless of what band you might be seeing, THIS record is what should be blasted in the car before skankin' in the pits! POLITKAL PUNK ROCK AT ITS FINEST!!
