This is one of the best CDs I have in my collection - and I've got 500+ CDs or so, so it does have a fair bit of competition.

I still can't choose between this and 'Something To Write Home About' (another must-have if you're an emo fan or wanting to try out the genre), although both albums are easily better than 'Eudora', which is easily better than 'On A Wire'. Haven't heard the new album yet so I can't compare.

'Four Minute Mile' is when the Get Up Kids were in their raw, unrefined stage of emo. And it's fucking good too, this is the archetype of raw emo.

Not a single song on the album disappoints; the quality stays high through every song, as does the amount of energy and emotion put into every note and syllable. The lyrics are good, the music is good and the vocals fit the music nicely.. the standard of this album is so high it's almost superfluous as to what one would expect good emo to be.

If you're into sort of emo, or softer punk - or you're into neither but would like to try it - don't pass up this album, it's well worth your money.

this cd is more fast paced then the newer get up kids stuff. I enjoyed it a lot more then their recent release, The Guilt Show. Four Minute Mile has a much rougher and tougher edge. emo rock i guess. favorite songs are "fall semester" and "last place you look."

I've been into the get up kids for a while, and this my favorite album, no question. It has a much bigger punk feel that the other albums. If you're new to them, I recommend this album first.

Umm i dunno bout this one, its good, but sorta out there in some nebulous catagory. theres no way to really classify it other than experimental emo i guess, washington square park is the best song but overall this cds kinda weak

Long before the Get Up Kids decided to become the Old 97's (and that's not necessarily a bad thing), they made albums with crunchy guitars, great hooks, and a great deal of energy. This is the first of two such albums. This record is not as complete as "Something To Write Home About", but its first four tracks alone make it a great listen.

If you prefer "On A Wire" to "Something To...", you probably won't be crazy about this album. But if you have even a slight interest in the Get Up Kids, this album is worth a listen.

This is what a GUK CD should sound like. Not that boring, camp songs On A Wire crap. This is real emo/indie rock. Kinda reminds me of older Weezer at times. I like it a lot. Michelle With One L is the best GUK song. Start with this album as your first GUK purchase.

I really like this cd but it doesnt compare to Something To write Home About. The only flaws are it is a really bad recording and its really short. But a must have for any Get Up Kids fan.

This CD offers some of the best songs the GET UP KIDS ever made. If you like this CD I suggest their other CD SOMETHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT. Its more mellow but still rocks in a softer kind of way.

This cd is awesome except for the band recording, its hard to understand them sometimes. This cd is way better then there new On a Wire sound and is one of their best over all. If your into emo buy this.
