Eggnog delivers exactly what you would expect from this almighty band. Made up of just 4 songs and a running time of just over 20 mins, this album works as an accompanying piece to the previous recording, Bullhead. The first 3 songs show the incredable, complex speed of the band, almost as if flying down a rollarcoaster track and feeling every turn and loop in the pit of your stomach. Then the coaster comes to a grinding violent hault. It launchs you into a state of molten lava like flow. Eggnog does not dissapoint, and serves as another gem in the already sparkling Melvins discography. Now, If you've never heard The Melvins before, I suggest you start with Bullhead, if your open minded of course, cause The Melvins ain't your everyday, run of the mill band. The sheer complexity of this band is too mind blowing for some, while others embrace and cherish it. In the words of one Henry Rollins, "Its there to be taken, or left alone."
