For a relatively new band made up of five individuals (the majority of whom are under the
legal drinking age), Kissing Tigers burn white-hot with the kind of raw musicianship and unbridled passion that most bands lack. Hailing from the sun-bleached college town of Santa Barbara, the Kissing Tigers perfect a stylish combination of punk sass and keyboard-heavy distortion, all combined with a manic live show that involves numerous flailed limbs and an endless amount of youthful energy and showmanship. Their call-and-response interplay of
bratty lead vocals and hipster howl fall perfectly in line with a foundation of addicting keyboard lines and upbeat drumming. Bringing to mind The Faint or early New Order, the Kissing Tigers rely heavily on their mammoth keyboard hooks without leaning too heavy on the ‘80s irony or straying far from their punk roots.
