A.K.A.s (Are Everywhere!)

White Doves And Smoking Guns

(Members From Brothers Keeper)

The A.K.A.s (ARE EVERYWHERE!) exploded on the NYC club scene soon after the break up of hardcore legends Brother's Keeper. Mike Ski, accomplished tattoo artist and hardcore icon, fronts the NYC-style, political punk 'n roll outfit. The sound: Ball-breaking vocals and gut-wrenching guitars peppered with savage keyboards. The band is a five piece with the other members recognized as bassist Chad, guitarist Lukas, drummer Bobby Williams and keyboardist Nina. Their gospel of rebellion and dissidence is spreading. Watch your back! The A.K.A.s (ARE EVERYWHERE!)

i really enjoyed this album, but i would suggest buying "everybody make some noise!" first, as i think they really progressed on that album. that being said, "white doves..." is still packed full of awesome organ-backed jams which, while i hesitate to use the term, are classified as 'dance-punk'. "shout out loud", "every great western", "generation vexed", "spectacle city", "actors + spectators" are all awesome tracks and the bands pulls them off with great attitude and intensity. see them live if you get the chance, and remember, the a.k.a.s are everywhere!

The A.K.A.s are awesome. I saw them live when they were on tour with Stretch Arm Strong, and I couldn't believe how good they were. This CD is great, I like every song, I don't skip a single one. I don't know how to describe them... it's like punk with keyboards fused in a dramatic way that leaves you in awe. BUY THIS CD NOW!!!
