Grest Canadian band and great cd.
Un groupe de l'ouest canadien comme je les aiment. Avec un bon son rock et parfois quelques faibles tendences country qui donne une touche bien différente à ce que l'ont entend à tout les jours.

great lyrics, great musicianship. not exactly what to consider them though. i can't believe this is on epitaph records, it just doesn't fit the regular mold of bands on the label. hardcore or not, if you're into great songwriting, you should check this out.

this cd is a departure from the normal - what else would you expect from the weakerthans? It's very mellow, very well thought-out music. I think track two is the only one that realy rocks out, so this one isn't for you if you need something to break stuff to. But if you're in a pensive mood, this album is the shit. the only con I can think of is I heard some of these songs when I was in a starbucks .....wtf ?

this one is like the other two, but also different. at first I didnt like it very much, but now it is up there with "left and leaving". it does, at times, seem to get a bit lame, like the line "I know you might roll your eyes at this, but I'm so glad that you exist", but they are shortly followed by something clever enough to make up for it, like "and you tell me to fuck off when I need somebody to". There are more back up vocals on this, which I like, including a song with (I think) sarah harmer. if you like the others, you will like this one.

This is one of the best albums in 2003!! The album had to grow on me, but now that it has, I listen to it all time. I love Left and Leaving and this album is alittle diffrent so at firts I was kind of disapointed but now I like it just as much. This band isn't so in your face "fuck the government" but at times their very political. They have love songs that don't suck, their just an all around awsome band.

This album is as brilliant as their other two. they continue to write some of the most beautiful music out there. if you have any doubts just go download "Psalm For the Elks Lodge Last Call," or "Benediction." So buy this album now!!

This was the the Weakerthans album that I have been waiting for. The last two were incredible and extremely well done, but this one is the culmination of everything we knew they were capable of. They seemed to have perfected their poeticly dreary yet uplifting sound with this release. If you are a Weakerthans fan you will love this one. It's damn near perfection.
