Adequate 7 formed from a group of close friends around November 2000. Merging diverse musical influences they found a distinctive groove-laden hardcore sound. After a period of jamming and practice they played their first gig in December 2000. Drawing further inspiration from bands including AFI, Sick of it All, Gorilla Biscuits, CIV and Shelter as well as George Clinton, Funkadelic, Zender-era Jamiroquai, Tribe Called Quest, 311 and Ozomatli, the band continued to grow, define their sound and play more gigs.
