This cd is amazing. Dan Yemin is fast becoming my favourite vocalist. He pulls a beautiful rollins esc. talk/singing soul ravaging dirty rasp vocals. Absolutely love it. this band is the new punk and hardcore. one of the very few cds that keeps the old music scene alive. a blistering paced album that makes us remember why we love hardcore. anyone who says this is too short just doesn;t get it. this album is supposed to be hardcore. harcore in its original form was 50 second to 2 min long songs of pure adrenalin and power. this tops that by also having amazing talent to back up the power of the music. dave hause shouldn't have left he is instrumental with making this cd better which his awesome back up vocals....which thank god he still provided for paradise. All paint it black albums are amazing. a real treat for the true fan. they say that refused is the future of punk....but i think that this album is the definition of hardcore. and if you want the future of punk? just pick up the new paint it black album new lexicon. that is the future of hardcore punk. refused is awesome and i love that album (one of my favourites of all time) but it is almost an experimental black flag take on hardcore. Paint it black IS hardcore in all its ragging glory. buy all three of their albums and listen to in sequence to travel through the blissful history of punk rock in just over 1 hour!!!!!!!

k, waited too long to review this got like 6 months ago. but its awesome. towarn u this is a short lbum like only 18 minutes. but it seems to last longer than it is. with that said its worth it. this album overall is faster than Paradise, which is why i like it better. that one is only slightly longer but has nothing to do with the tempos. even though there are plenty of slow breakdowns on paradise. so these guys are a fusion of peace punk and hardcore. theres sound is completely hardcore but there lyrics are completely political. so in short if u like hardcore and u have a brain ull loveit
take note that this gets a 5 on the overall music scale, but a 4 on the hardcore scale, b/c harcore is in its own stratosphere

wow. pretty catchy songs in all, but for gosh-sakes it is only 18 min. long. i dont mind short c.d.s but, at least 20 min.! overall it is awsome. for fans of wanted dead, and minor threat, or just flat out hardcore punk.

17 song CD running 18 minutes. That just goes to show how quick and explosive each song is. The CD reminds me of 80's Hardcore. If you enjoy listening to Minor Threat or Black Flag then you'll get a kick out of Paint It Black.

Awesome! It reminds me a lot of Lifetime especially the vocals. Its also a little similar to kid Dynamite, the best punk band of all time. This is definitely the best thing to come out of the break up of Kid Dynamite although None More Black and Curse are awesome too.

I was really let down by this album. I'd been waiting for it for almost two weeks and was really excited when it finally arrived. But what a let down. Don't get me wrong, it's a good, straight up hardcore album, but it's 18 minutes long. That's not right. 17 songs in 18 minutes is not worth the money at all. Burn it or download it, whatever, just give it a listen and not a buy.
