Let's get some information out on the table. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes have never written a song. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes have barely toured. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes started as a joke band. Me First And The Gimme Gimmes have become very successful.
On their fourth album Take A Break, the band spins back around to their R&B roots. R&B roots? You know the quintet to be members of punk rock bands (NOFX, Lagwagon, Swingin' Utters, ex-No Use For A Name/Foo Fighters), but once upon a time, before the lads ever laid a stylus on a Sex Pistols LP, they spent their afternoons on street corners perfecting their break dancing moves to the sounds generated by their portable boom boxes.
Me First And The Gimme Gimmes breathe new life into songs that were once "hits" but have fallen into obscurity. Songs like Seal's "Crazy", R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly", and the Jackson Five's "I'll Be There". 14 songs that are now new again, ready to regain "hit" status under the thumb of the great Me First And The Gimme Gimmes!

As Me First and the Gimme Gimmes albums go, this was not my favorite. But it's still pretty fun. The Sinead O'Connor cover (And make no mistake, it is a Sinead cover, not a Prince cover. Listen to the lyrics.) stands out, as does the opening track, Ain't No Sunshine, and I Believe I Can Fly. A couple of clunkers, but some good songs as well.

Typical Me First and the gimme gimmes album, get this, they are the best cover band in the world. Alot of humour too in their songs.

Who would have thought that a bunch of punkers from a bunch of different bands, playing songs by people from a bunch of other bands would be so appealing. Not to mention the fact that their versions are just great punk rock. Buy it.

By far my least favorite of the Gimmes work. This CD does have some interesting takes but I prefer their classics and show tune covers to this song list. Both their last two CDs have left me a little disappointed of a band I thought was once one of the funnest things around. Complete the collection if you must but don't rush it if you are concerned about the quality of this CD.

Ahhh... The Gimmes, I'll never get bored of these guys, aslong as they keep their good taste in old popular music.
I must say that "Blow In The Wind" and "Have A Ball" are probably my favorites.
Still any gimmes album is a must have for me anyhow. Their choice of music is great and they manage to perform it perfectly.
Must say that the vocals are still getting even better on this album though. Amazing!

This Cd kills. MFATGG are back with some of their best work. Who else could cover R&B and make it kick some ass. Add this one to your collection.

This might be the best musically done album that Me First and the Gimme Gimmes have put out. I personally don't like the song selections as much for this album compared to their others, especially "Blow in the Wind". But all the songs are really tight. They did a great job and like I said, musically, it is very well done. All the songs sound good. If you are a fan of the band, then you definitely will not be disappointed with this album.

kinda satisfied with this shit, you know, the music is alright,so catchy and shit, spike's pitch is way better, the only bad thing is that I'm not familiar with the r&b scene,so I don't get too much fun with the covers, just with, the End of the Road cuz I heard that song somewhere in a movie,I'll be there in a jacksons 5 special the stevie wonder song, cuz stevie is cool....and the R.Kelly song, cuz like in 1996 that song appeared in space jam,and I loved that movie.....come on I was almost twelve that year.......nice album but blow in the wind is way better.....but this album is way better than the Boyz II Men records......later

This is just as good as 'Blow in the Wind' and 'Have a Ball' but again as they allways do in a different style but more in this one basically due to them covering more recent songs which originally were faster than the older 60's songs they have previously covered. well worth the £10.06 i payed for it! Thats with the P+P! Do u no that i would have ahd to have payed like £16 in a real life shop!
