Bear Vs. Shark

Right Now, You're In The Best Of Hands

Equal Vision 85

Released on July 22, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

BEAR VS. SHARK creates music for people like them who need to be inspired in the same way as they have been by music. The band originates from the greater Detroit metro area, specifically Highland and White Lake, MI. They play with no emotional pretenses and bring a sense of music history and genuine sincerity to their craft. With musical influences as diverse as Fugazi, Led Zeppelin, Hot Water Music, Elton John, The Commodores, Johnny Cash, Sunny Day Real Estate, At The Drive-In and Radiohead, it’s easy to see the root of the band's unique sonics. BVS recorded their Equal Vision Records debut at Big Blue Meenie studios [Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Breaking Pangaea] in NJ. The studio, with it’s incredible team of engineers, proved to be the perfect environment for the band to harness their raw, melodic power. The members of BEAR VS. SHARK have played shows with broken legs, broken teeth, bloody noses, open wounds, torn cartilage and migraines. They will play through most injuries, and sustain many while playing.

The first three songs are excellent. It gets pretty slow though and difficult to pay attention to. There are probably about 5 songs that are worth listening to, the other six are lyrically confusing. Compared to "Terrorhawk," this album sucks..."Terrorhawk" is sooo good.

uhhh amazing? that's pretty much the only word i can think of to describe this album, and the entire band. i'm glad i got to see them before they broke up. it's a complete shame. this album is not as good as terrorhawk, but they are both perfect tens on my list.

This album is amazing! Not a bad song on the entire thing. Terrorhawk is also incredible, if you ever get the chance to see them live you should definatly not miss out because it's a mind blowing experience. They are truly awesome guys and deserve any amount of support you can give. Come back to Lexington soon!

I loved track 3, so I got the album, listened to it 3 times, and then used it as a dust rag. Well ... not really. It sounds like a softer/emo Death By Stereo. Good, but not great.

the coolest indie band i have ever listened to in my life. i dont even really like indie at all.... it takes something pretty unique for me to be attracted to it. bearvsshark does just that. so intense... yet peaceful. i honestly think the best show i have ever seen.... better then any hardcore show i have been to..... was when i saw bearvsshark.... the singer... i dont even know his name.... is the funniest guy alive.... he was fucking jumping up and down on this keyboard that was about ti give out at any moment... also doing random things like running in place and trying to run up the wall..... incredible.... this band is truely unique... hell..... they fucking switched instruments throughout their set... thats just awesome.... a bunch of neat guys.... come back to gabes oasis!!

There were a lot of mixed reviews for this cd. How could you not love this band. they are incredible. They are a genre in theirself. Great progressive music and the singer has a great deeper voice, which you dont hear to often nowadays. This album was very refreshing to hear. a perfect mix of faster hardcore songs and slow songs.

Sort of an old schoolish voice with more progressive music and good lyrics. Voice sometimes reminds me of Tim Kasher for some reason. Others will probably disagree, but that is just me. give it a try.

This CD's like.. orgasmically delicious. The singer's voice is great, really thick and loud, it projects the music wonderfully. Also, the guitar/s have some really interesting melodies, not your basic stuff. My favorite songs either the second or third one, but the whole CD's great, really worth the money.
