A classic record even in its own time. Portland's own Spare Lead kicks down the door and crashes the music scene bringing thier own brand of fast, angsty punk complete with intelligent and mindful lyics. On the negative, the sound doesn't quite live up to New School Record's superior quality, but it doesnt at all hinder the feel of this smashing fast punk record. Its hard to write a simple review on this one, this record is simply amazing. It will slap you in the face and make fun of your mother. I love the intro, such a fantastic build from soft bass into a crashing climax and suddenly you're deep into the first song. My favorite tracks are Skasome, Freaks, Brain Damage, My Anthem, You Tried, Number 3, Meant To Hurt and Absolutely Nothing. You can definitely expect great things from this band! I cant wait to hear where they go next.

Are you serious? I can't believe how awesome these guys are. These guys are fast as hell, and the drumming and base lines are amazing! When I first heard of these guys, from Shut the Punk Up Vol. 2, I liked the one song that I heard so I decided to get the cd, and now I can't stop listening to it. I wasn't expecting much from these guys because they are relatively new, but now they are a top 10 band of mine. The only thing that sucks about these guys is that they only have one cd. If you're a fan of fast-ass punk, like me, buy this cd immediately!

I saw these guys live a few weeks ago and thought they rocked, so I figured I’d pick up this album. All the songs are good and well written, but the quality isn’t the best. You can tell that it was their first real studio experience and that they were crammed for time. Even though the artwork is kind of basic, and the recording quality is not at a higher level, this still is a real good CD and I recommend it to fans of old AFI, Good Riddance, and Lagwagon. I’m hoping to see some new material from these guys sometime soon, because this CD shows they have a lot of potential and reveals a doorway to success!

first of all to anyone who dislikes this band not metioning any names (cade from texas) you wouldnt know a punkrock disc even if it turned itnto a chainsaw and cut you in two.refused is mainstream and lyrics suck the same with thrice main fuckin stream.get a fuckin brain.in light of all that non-punker talk on cades part i noticed (julien from canada) was right on point in describing the melodicly/hardcore driven lyrics/backup vocals that remind me so much of the soothing sounds pounded out by bands like 88 fingers louie/good riddance. so take my punk instincts to your full advantge and buy this disc. your punkrock membraine will thank you later so keep on punkrockin julien and to cade fuck the mainstream cycle and fuck you. MDDM......heckle/jeckle

Man, where do I start with these guys?? OK first off, i can barely hear the vocals which are really shitty and has a nasty sound to them, the guy trys to sing but I dunno what you wanna call it. If you are gonna spend money on this crap i suggest you get a life, or start listening to something new, try thrice or refused. They FUCKIN ROCK!!

Now , i bought this cd only cause i had credit at interpunk and that someone said it sounded a lot like good riddance first albums . since good riddance is one my favorite bands , i decided to give spare lead a try . now i admit that they sound like good riddance comprehensive guide to moderne rebellion , minus the melody . but we can see where these guys are going and that theyre on the way to becoming a very good fast energetic punk rock band . this album is for them what liberal animation was for NOFX , a very good record that shows where the band is heading : success .
