wow, this is probably the worst cd I've bought from interpunk. Most of it is pretty comparable to the average 14 year old's garage punk band. I was hoping for a couple songs that I could listen to but Go Sailor's I'm Still Crying is the only song that comes close. I wanted something with some sing along melody like anything by the Dance Hall Crashers. I don't even think this is worth the 5 bucks. Unless you like crappy garage punk.

This disc contains the live version of the Avengers' "American In Me" that appears on Died For Your Sins, not the studio recording of the song. It would've been nice to know, since the main reason I ordered this CD was to pick up the studio version of "American In Me" on the cheap.
If the disc contained the studio recording, I would've given it a two star rating; if the track listing had read "American In Me (live)" I wouldn't have ordered the disc in the first place.
As other reviewers have mentioned, this comp is sorely lacking in some truly essential female bands/artists, by virtue of the fact that Lookout Records and Hot Topic having nothing to do with cool bands, like Crass, Miami, B.K., X-Ray Specs, Ludicra or The Vice Dolls.

Hi! this is Joey. I have a real problem with this cd. for three dollars, it's a bargain. However, most of the songs are a real disappointment. I like the cd up untill track eleven. after that it's all downhill. The donnas song at the beginning just plain sucks. It's not a total loss though. the eyeliners and the go sailor songs are extremely good. I suggest saving your money and buying the full lengths. I wouldn't get this cd unless you are ordering something else and have an extra three bucks to kill.

I enjoyed this CD. While there were a few tracks that I didn't like (which was mostly due to whiny-sounding vocals), this is overall a pretty good choice. However, I agree with another previous reviewer that said that this CD doesn't really reflect the best of female-fronted bands or riot-grrrl. I would list this one, then, as slight above mediocre, but there are a few good tracks on here that are worth it for a CD so cheap.

This cd is so awesome! Perfect for the ears of a feminist or a chick that just got dumped. Even if you're neither of those, this is still, a great cd.

Its 3 bucks, you sure can't complain. But if I did say anything about this CD in the negative- I don't believe this CD did girl punk bands justice. I think they could've dug up some better bands to showcase on this CD, if not some better songs at least.

This is an excellent comp. For the record, being male, I've always been partial to female bands, especially of the punk variety. They just seem to get into and appreciate the music they're playing more than others. There are some great bands on here, most if not all, having something to do with Lookout records. If you're interested in finding some new bands you may not have heard and just in general like good punk, give this cd a try. And for the price i'm sure even the most jaded person will find it worthwhile. P.S I was very pleased to see Bratmobile on here, they never get the attention I feel they deserve.
