Cramps

Fiends of Dope Island

Vengeance 675.2

Released on November 4, 2014

$16.75

A year after launching their own Vengeance Records with six classic re-issues, the CRAMPS are now releasing their first new album in over five years. The architects of a wickedly toxibilly sound, their cultural impact has spawned a legion of devil cults, and created in its wake a cavalcade of cave-stomping imitators. On the self-produced Fiends of Dope Island, these charm school rejects apply their sinister handiwork to a volatile combination of incantational rock n roll hexes like "Big Black Witchcraft Rock" and "Papa Satan Sang Louie", put their hoodlum warp on exotica standard "Taboo", swerve and careen through crypt-kickin' blues rave-up "Dopefiend Boogie" and the rampaging 'Wrong Way Ticket", finishing off the album in a musical equivalent of a 13 car pile-up.

This is the cramps newest release, as of now. It's pretty good. I just got it yesterday, so i havent listened to the whole thing yet. The best song is "Elvis Fucking Christ", at least so far. The cramps havent changed much, and thats a good thing. I gave it only 4 stars though because Smell of Female is better, their live CD. Also, becuase the whole satanist thing is a little strange. But, this CD is definettely worth the money. Good rockabilly punk rock thats just having fun and being totally insane.
