Sick Of Modern Art

Tarantulas 3

Released on April 22, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

"Sick Of Modern Art" further develops the urgent, aware and intelligent theme that The Explosion has become known for. This 5 song cd was recorded in the band's home town of Boston during the course of 2002 by Matt Squire and mixed by Paul Q. Kolderie. (Radiohead, Pixies) More than just an EP, "Sick of Modern Art" was the catalyst for the band to start their own label, Tarantulas Records. Limited edition available with a free Tarantulas Records sampler CD. Sixteen tracks total.

This is an excellent ep! 5 great songs by The Explosion & a tarantulas records sampler too. These are the best songs The Explosion have ever recorded making this release their best yet. This band has quickly become one of my favorite punk bands. I can't wait to hear a new full-length album by them, hopefully soon because its been awhile! The sampler is great with the songs by Darker My Love (featuring Andy & Timmy from Nerve Agents!) and the Tonsils being my favorites, as well as the last song which is another song by the Explosion! Excellent.

Yet another great realease from Boston's own: The Explosion. Matt Hock's brilliant vocals really make this band shine. The fast drumlines and explosive guitar riffs make "Sick of Modern Art" a contender for one of my favorite releases of 2003. It is, however, second best when compared to The Explosion's first relase: The Explosion(Self Titled). But still a great 5 song cd. Pick it up.

Yet another sign of things to come. I swear, The Explosion gets better with every release. The songs on here are great, and the album comes with a sampler of the bands on Tarantulas Records. Though I would have to say, the Explosion are the best band on their own sampler. The only dissapointing part of this ep is that I already own 2 of the 5 songs on it (they were released on a limited edition 7")
