Destination: Beautiful

Tooth & Nail 80591

Released on February 25, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

With subtle beauty and lush instrumentation, Mae bring to the rock and roll table the kind of maturity and distinction that has been so absent in a swarm of oblique and generic post-emo convention. Utilizing varied soundscapes beneath their crisp, driving melodies, Mae appeals to those longing for musical depth and substance, painstaking detail, and a collaboration of delicate art and head-nodding rock. "Destination: Beautiful" is the band's debut full-length and will no doubt turn heads everywhere.

probably my favourite mae cd. the everglow is good too, but this one is better. definately pick it up if you like mellow indie music with a happy, dance party-esque twist, just without the disco ball and E.

Mae, beyond there very short knowledge in the more mainstream world, which i'm proud to not be part of, is amazing. They are calm and cool and yet pack a heavy punch with sweet soft lyrics. As one author put it, "...if Jimmy Eat World had kept rocking and REM never stopped, you find Mae...". A solid description but the music says more than that. And to all you who hate the FCC and show it by continuing to download music, like myself, then go out and download Tisbury Lane, a song not on Destination: Beautiful, but one of the most touching songs I've ever heard.

I like this cd. Its full to the brim with catchy melodies and harmonies, some really good songs. The first song is my favorite 'Embers and Envelopes' The keyboard man adds alot to the music. This is nice music to listen to i enjoy the audio sounds. Thanks.

This cd is well worth buying. Well-written music, inspirational and positive lyrics (especially embers and envelopes, giving it away) are both qualities of this record. some standout tracks of mine are: Sun, All Deliberate Speed, Embers and Envelopes, and Giving It Away. but this cd you can really listen through. sounds like older jimmy eat world, watashi wa, and a little holland. this is another great Tooth and Nail band. Buy it, worth the money

This cd is great. I only heard of this band because one track was used on the 'riding in vans' dvd and they had a section to show which tracks were used in the dvd. More people should do that! Anyway, there is a huge Jimmy Eat World influence running throughout this cd, which is no bad thing. Each song blends seemlessy into another to take you on a beautiful journey. When I got it I lay in bed at night with the lights off listening to it, perfect! If you want music to listen to at night then you won't go wrong with this band. Great stuff.

If you like Jimmy Eat World, Something Corporate, The Juliana Theory, Dashboard Confessional, Coheed & Cambria, Further Seems Forever, etc, then you'll probably like this to.

It's obvious with each song that Mae is a very talented band.

My favourites are This Time Is The Last Time, Summertime, All Deliberate Speed, Embers And Envelopes.

mae is a solid band with an excellent live sound. the music is nothing too extraordinary, but the band is really together and they put out some good mellow rock. if you like mae, you should check out the singer's former band, sky's the limit.

At first, I was'nt very impressed with this CD, but after I sat down and really listened to it, I came to terms with just how amazing this CD is. The vocals are great, the lyrics are great, and the songs are littered with awesome piano melodies. This band is going to go far.

This Cd Is a big relief after hearing a not so good round of releases lately. Mae's-Beautiful Destination Cd offer you great quality packaging, recording, production and song writing. There are more strong songs, like 95% of the cd is strong, then weak songs present on this album, which is another rare occasion and the weak songs are not even that weak, so there! over all, if you are a fan of the Jimmy Eat World, then you probably won't be disapointed if you purchase this. Interpunk did a great job with my order as well. I ordered this cd on Monday April 28th, 2003 and recieved it on Monday May 5th, 2003, Not bad, I will use this service again.
