Anatomy Of A Ghost

Fearless 64

Released on January 21, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

This album will floor you. An absolute amazing debut release from these young lads from Portland, OR. 11 songs and over 50 minutes of music that is all over the map. Refreshing, heavy, complex and melodic. Blurring the lines of progressive rock and hardcore. Inspired by Coheed and Cambria, Thursday and Thrice.

This is sort of a 3.5, it leaves alot to the imagination i guess you could say. It's not a disappointment at all, just sorta not reaching the bar of expectations. Sorta sounds like a somewhat hardcore New Found Glory; voicewise anyway. The lyrics are what stands out and helps make this album worth buying. I'd say overall this is an album that any person should get, just not really the top of my list of recommendations.

an a+ album for a new band stepping out into the scene. although i usually disagree and disregard what people may or may not think a band 'sounds like', i do believe fans of coheed and cambria will like this album. both bands share similar songwriting and vocal strengths. overall a good 'emo-core' album that fans of all genres should enjoy. i am looking forward to their sophomore debut. until that day, peace.

This band definitely needs to thank Thursday and Coheed And Cambria for their sound. So yes, nothing original here. But they pull off the sound very well. I'm not sure how well this album will compare to other releases this year, but for the always slow start of the year, this is worth picking up while you wait for the good stuff to come out. They just need to develop more of their own sound next time. I'll be looking forward to their sophmore album.

And even though I give it 4, it's more like 3.5.
