Makeshift3 formed in 1995 when 3 high school students, Tyler Bochenek, Jeff Lascola, & Eric Mattson in San Diego County decided they were tired of the same old pop punk and wanted to offer the kids of California something a little different. The boys of Makeshift3 built a unique sound and message, which quickly lead them to being noticed by California record label Pious Records. In 1999, Makeshift3 released their first debut record, Fuel for Life, which gained them stage access with many world known artists, such as NOFX, Bad Religion, Lagwagon, Thrice, Slick Shoes and more. When 2000 came around, they were approached by Micah Records and in 2001, they released a new full length titled Game Day. After it’s release, Makeshift3 was found touring across the country and their music was regularly played on both ESPN and MTV. They even ranked #1 in various genres with over 500,000 listens on mp3.com in 2002!
3 years since their last release and with continuous touring the west coast, Makeshift3 is back with a new 13 track full-length record that will remind their fans why they topped many charts in 2002! Fluorescent Black offers a unique blend of punk genres, from hardcore to pop, while remaining to be very catchy and hard to pass up. With fast-melodic guitar riffs, technical drum beats and an original vocal style, this is one album that will keep you memorized for a countless number of hours. A must for fans of Lagwagon, Blink 182, MXPX and NOFX.
