Left Coast Punk EP (Limited Deep Blue Marble Vinyl)

MxPx are back with their fifth EP "Left Coast Punk EP" which takes us back in time to a melodic “The Ever Passing Moment” meets the ground-breaking rapid force of “Life In General”. The first four songs take the fast-paced punk rock style of their early years and combine it with dirty guitars, a driving bass, some well-needed gang vocals, and Mike Herrera’s utterly sharp and distinctly high piercing vocals. The verses are completely in-your-face and remind you of the transient punk scene that formed in the early ‘80’s, but then is split by some of the most memorable choruses MxPx have written– just think of “The Ever Passing Moment” era, but minus the sappiness. Just check out the crust-like sounds and killer riffs in “Shanghaied in Shanghai”, or the street-esque quality of “Hopeless Case”, and this EP is enough to bring all the recent MxPx haters back. Remastered by Stephen Egerton (from Descendents/ALL) at Armstrong Recording with additional lacquer mastered by Mickey T Craft at Multi Track Studios. First pressing is color vinyl and comes with a download code of the whole album.

MXPX don't seem to be getting any older. After 20 some years it still amazes me that they can pump out quality tunes. This one is a good addition to your collection.

I'm not a huge MXPX fan. That said I do enjoy some of their music. This EP is pretty good. My favorite song is the last one. But I also like a couple of the other songs too. It's not my favorite in the world, but I would probably buy it again. If you're really into these guys, then I'd say you'll enjoy it. I tend to ramble. Geesh.

Its an okay 7" I been an MxPX fan since back in the 90's and they still sound the same. Good plan punk rock with a emo twist. The wax is cool tho to collect nice colors mine is red. but music wise they could of done better the review dose not go with this 7" I think. O well if you a hardcore MxPx fan buy it if not pass on it. Some songs drag and other get you moving a little bit. cheers

Good record. I'm fairly certain most, if not all of these songs are tracks that didn't make it on 'secret weapon.' The 7-inch itself is really nice. Thick vinyl and the colors are randomly mixed so it's a surprise when you first slide it out of the sleeve.
