Most bands capitalize on fads and gimmicks, chasing whatever is popular and hot, jumping
from one genre to the next, but every now and then a band is able to exist and thrive because
they do the exact opposite. Bands like The Replacements, The Smoking Popes, Superchunk,
Soul Asylum, and even The Get Up Kids have been able to connect to a mainstream audience
because they wrote genuine, honest songs that spoke to people in a refreshing, straight
forward manner. When these bands come along it's refreshing and they're welcomed with
open arms and open ears. Lansing, Michigan's Cheap Girls is one of these bands. For their
newest and third full length "Giant Orange", the band enlisted Against Me! frontman Tom
Gabel to produce the record. The album was done in Tom’s brand new studio, Total Treble
Studio, a converted post office in Elkton, Florida, and the result is 10 loud hard rock anthems
that are sure to be listened to and appreciated by current and future generations of music
lovers. As much as Cheap Girls shine in the studio, they're also no strangers to the road.
Cheap Girls played over 150 shows last year, touring alongside Against Me!, Lemuria, The
Menzingers, Laura Stevenson and the Cans and many more. To support the initial release of
"Giant Orange", Cheap Girls will be doing a 26 date headline tour. Cheap Girls aren't looking
to change your life, they're just looking to write the soundtrack to it.
