Dan P And The Bricks

Watch Where You Walk

(MU330, Slow Gherkin)

Asian Man 224

Released on November 28, 2011

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

AN P AND THE BRICKS hail from SANTA CRUZ, CA.. Featuring DAN POTTHAST(MU330) on lead vocals and guitar and members of the band SLOW GHERKIN. This is a 10 piece SKA band with a 5 piece horn section. No SKA PUNK, just straight laced SKA influenced by bands like the SPECIALS and BAD MANNERS. Definitely MU330 influenced due to the fact that Dan is the man in charge, so for any fans of MU330, SLOW GHERKIN, and SKA music.... well, this will be a true treat

Dec 7 2011 Rating: 5/5 Stars

What a solid self-proclaimed ska release from Asian man records. With Dan P in the name of the band, that alone tells you how great the record is going to be, considering how good the Dan P and Toh Kay "You by Me" slit album was. I think that the lyrics of the songs were everything but boring. No songs about getting wasted and passed out on the floor, because of course Dan P knows we already have a million songs out there about that. Watch were you walk, (because you might step on my heart), it opens up with a great song and only gets better. I do however, think that with a five piece horn section, they could have had more horn solos in the middle of a song at a given time. The horns are nothing too jaw dropping like Streetlight Manifesto's "Somewhere in the Between", but this doesn't lose them a star whatsoever.
