A little more Kitty, a little less Casket

Kitty in a Casket's second full album Back To Thrill, makes them remind me of my favorite band, The 69 Eyes. Not in terms of sound but in terms of lyrics and change. The 69 Eyes have a long history of shocking their fans with a drastic change in sound from their previous albums, but you can still it is the work of the same musicians. The same applies here. It has a bit less of a psychobilly feel and has a bit more of a rock atmosphere with it. The lyrics have less reference to old horror movies as a result a bit of the humor is lost in the process. At the same time we still get songs like Monster High School Party. Also, you will not that the bass is not as prominent and visible. And the reality of it is, no song is quite as good as "Bride of the Monster" or "Horror Express" but with things like "run run" "headshot" and "shake your bones" you have no complaints from me. Its not like the old stuff, but its fantastic in its own way. Definitely worth picking up, you will be listening to nothing else for quite a while.

This is a solid female fronted rockabilly album. It's quite a thrill indeed. Considering the content of the stories told in the album. I would recommend this to a fan of The Creepshow or Necromantix anyday.
