Not being overly familiar with Fang, I thought this might make a good introduction. Tracks 1 through 8 are from the Spun Helga album which incorporates some jazz and funk to mixed effects. The goofy opening track, "Tits And Oi" is a sure winner as is "Evil Runs Free" (which brings to mind, early TSOL.) Tracks 9 through 18 are from their A Mi Ga Sfafas album, and it's a much different beast than Spun Helga. Songs here have a much more uniform production and are much more straight forward (though at times they do tread into Damaged era Black Flag territory). Occasionally some metal influence creeps in but it's kept in check. Tracks 19 to 30 are from the unreleased Pissed Off Buddha album. The production is definitely not up to the same standards as the other two albums but it's still decent. It's a shame really, because this album showcases a band that's at the top of their game. Whether it be the anthemic "One way Out" or the toilet humor of "Mother Goose", Fang deliver the goods on this album. The live at the Pound footage is both well shot and well recorded (though a couple odd edits are there). The band is tight and Sammy is as an engaging front man as one could ask for. Definitely a solid purchase.
