Dancing With A Ghost

I Surrender 13

Released on October 12, 2010

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Dancing With A Ghost is the third album from Valencia, featuring vocalist Shane Henderson; guitarists JD Perry and Brendan Walter; bassist George Ciukurescu; and drummer Daniel Pawlovich. Having joined forces with legendary producer, Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182) and Carlos de la Garza (Neon Trees, Alkaline Trio), Dancing With A Ghost displays how far the guys have come since their debut album in 2005. After six years and two albums, debut This Could Be A Possibility (I Surrender Records) and follow-up We All Need A Reason To Believe (Columbia), they have truly found their stride together. The album is a message: that every change, whether it be good or bad, can lead to positivity within yourself, as long as you're willing to work for it. Valencia has been consistently recognized for their DIY work ethic and musical integrity, including praise by Alternative Press Magazine and

I enjoyed more songs on this album than I did on the last album but once again as soon I got through the first 4 or 5 tracks the rest kind of just lost my interest. Still a good CD and like I said I bet the TRUE Valencia fans will love it a lot!

I thought their first two albums were extraordinary so my expectations for this one was very high. My expectations weren't met. But after now listening to this album several times it's staring to grow on me a lot. Upon the first listen I thought, wow their talent is still unbelievable, but the songs weren't as catchy and didn't have the energy of the first two albums. Now that it's grown on me I'll say the songs are indeed catchier and more melodic than I first gave them credit for. I would like to see them return to more of a punk rock sound on their next album though. Why Sony Music dropped them is a mystery to me because they're talented as hell.
