“2009 was one hell of a year, non-stop for us really,” says Bring Me
the Horizon frontman Oli Sykes. “Our second album Suicide Season
has taken us further than we ever thought was possible. I think we
found our unique sound with that album and the next is going to be
using Suicide Season as a base, but pushing it further in every single
way imaginable. It’s with Fredrick Nordström again, since he made us
sound so amazing last time.” 2009 was indeed a breakout year for UK
band Bring Me the Horizon, taking their US and Epitaph debut north
of 120,000 sold as the band mounted their initial assault on American
audiences, first on last fall’s Epitaph tour, currently stealing shows on
2010 Warped, and soon to be co-headlining this fall’s AP Tour. All
just in time for the release of their third album, There Is A Hell
Believe Me I've Seen It, There Is A Heaven Lets Keep It A Secret. This
is the album that will make the rest of America sit up and pay
attention: to the powerful riffs, cinematic songcraft, and magnetic
image that have built them a fanatical young (and heavily female)
fanbase. Poster boys for a new sound in hardcore, Bring Me the
Horizon are heavy enough to work with producer Fredrick Nordström
(At the Gates), while accessible enough to grace the covers of over
10 national magazines, including Alternative Press: an exciting blend
that has them headed for new horizons.
