Fat Wreck Chords 748

Released on April 13, 2010

Since their breakout release The Great Awake, THE FLATLINERS have been touring the world with a tenacity that would make the most road-hardened veterans weary. Multiple jaunts around the US, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia have served to amass an ever increasing fan-base. The only possible downside of the band’s relentless trek is that it left them with little time to record their follow up full-length. Fortunately, at long last the wait is over with the release of Cavalcade. The twelve tracks on Cavalcade reflect the maturation THE FLATLINERS have undergone over the past three years with intelligently crafted songs that still brandish the band’s youthful passion and exuberance. The forceful guitars, gruff vocals, and vigorous rhythms that have become the hallmark of THE FLATLINERS are elevated to an advanced level on Cavalcade and will be recognized by fans and critics alike. The songs lean toward a pithy, more thought out sound, without losing a bit of the catchiness that shrouds THE FLATLINERS past material. From the anthemic choruses on “Carry the Banner” and “Monumental”, the powerful cadence of “Shithawks”, to the reggae-infused “He Was a Jazzman”, Cavalcade showcases the vast dimension of THE FLATLINERS songwriting prowess. Fresh off a full US tour with the Dropkick Murphys and Youth Brigade, THE FLATLINERS already have plans to hit the road hard with a headlining US tour booked in support of Cavalcade.

Flatliners are a great band. I've loved them since "destroy to create " and ill love then until they fuck up and do something horrible to break my heart... but till then ill love every damn song they write. This album is just great... its fast fueled Canadian punk rock. Plain and simple. Its not pop. Its not hard core like in the way kids use the word now days, its hard core like punk used to be and then every once in a while records like this come out ... the band has evolved a lot... from each new record to the next. Just buy it. And buy it on vinyl too. Fuck CDs.

Yup... we have a genius album here. Every song is fucking gold. These guys just keep getting better and better. Cavalcade, along with The Slackers' 'The Great Rocksteady Swindle', Off With Their Heads' 'In Desolation', None More Black's 'Icons', and Against Me!'s 'White Crosses' have made this year a good one for music. Everything else sucked.

Favorite songs: "He Was A Jazzman", "Shithawks", "New Year's Resolution".

This is hands down the best Flatliners record. Always liked the band but this one sealed the deal for me. Great band.

This record is good but not as good as prior releases. I find it to be a bit boring. But there are a few tracks that are just absolutley amazing like Monumental and Filthy Habits. Still one of the best releases of the year.
