"In Honor: A Compilation To Beat Cancer" started as an idea after my mother
lost her courageous battle with cancer on February 7, 2004. To honor her and
those who've lost their well-fought battles, I decided to put all my time
and energy into this project. With the support of Rich Egan and Vagrant
Records this project has turned into a reality. Some of the best and
brightest artists have agreed to lend their time and talent.
By your purchase of this compilation, Vagrant Records is contributing the
proceeds equally between one of two outstanding organizations created to
help those with cancer. The Syrentha Savio Endowment was created to help
those who can't afford the expensive treatment that fighting cancer
requires. The Sean McGrath Fund was created to help Sean himself, who was a
member of the band Saves The Day. Sean's battle with cancer came to a
peaceful end on June 11, 2004. His wish was to help others fighting cancer,
that didn't have the love and support he did. The Gilda's Club and other
organizations will benefit from The Sean McGrath Fund.
Cancer can effect anyone young or old. I hope this project will raise
awareness, help others, and save lives. Thank you for your generosity!
