Social Distortion [Import] (Limited 180 Gram Vinyl)

Music on Vinyl 6953036

Released on March 13, 2012

$29.00
Buy

Limited 180 Gram vinyl LP pressing of this 1990 album from the Alt-Rock veterans.

With their self-titled third album and major label debut, Social Distortion continued their progression from a rather ordinary L.A. hardcore band into a roots rock band. Featuring the breakout hits "Story of My Life," "It Coulda Been Me," "Ball And Chain" and "So Far Away," Mike Ness and company proved that they could split the difference between rockabilly and Ramones-style punk. Now available again on vinyl.

If I was to make a "Top 10" category for albums that changed my life... this would probably be around #3. I didn't get into Social D... until probably my mid 20's... and then I discovered how important the lyrical content/stories are of the music you listen to. Mike Ness is brilliant and honest in his writting. This album was a big stepping stone for the band. A major label debut from a Punk Rock band right before the big... "Second Wave of Punk"! It speaks for it self, that this band made it on it's own without a "Pop-Culture Movement". No offense to Green Day.
