Build & Burn, THE LOVED ONES follow up to 2006’s
Keep Your Heart, is the product of over two years on the
road, the addition of two new band members and the in-studio
partnership between long-time friends. Hints of
Americana rock n’ roll with expanded instrumentation
lay amongst the album’s ten tracks, highlighting a true
progression in the band’s sound and songwriting. The
addition of Dave Walsh and Chris Gonzalez (both ex-The
Explosion), on guitar and bass respectively, solidified
the line up moving towards the creation of Build & Burn.
Produced by Bryan Kienlen and Pete Steinkopf of the
Bouncing Souls, the album features guest appearances
by the Hold Steady’s Franz Nicolay (piano, Hammond B3
organ, harmonica, accordion, saw) and Tad Kubler
(guitar). Make no mistake THE LOVED ONES are
prepared to hit the road without stopping, with their new
lineup and this batch of new songs in tow!
Vinyl includes a cd insert of the album.

good, but not as great as the last record. they have a new line up on this release and you can tell. it sounds more like diesel boy than ever. alot more poppy.

An overall good release. A little disappointing after the strength of Keep Your Heart as there are not as many hooks and sing-along choruses. Still a solid record though. Eco-friendly packaging too.

all i can say is that i hate the the explosions broke up but i LOVE that the boys (chris and i think dave) went to the loved ones. this album is so intense that it will stick in your head to the point where it becomes an addiction.

The Loved Ones.. Well, I just discovered this band about 6 months ago and Keep Your Heart is one of the best CD's that I have heard.. ever. The passion, the writing, the vocals, it was what a modern day punk record should sound like. Build and Burn is a good CD too, I understand the band is trying to broaden their horizons and try new things, but the slwer songs with the keyboards just dont do it for me. The CD as a whole is still above what most other bands out there are doing now, but get Keep Your Heart instead.

This album is great. All the songs have a really good feel to them. It's not one of those albums where you have to listen to it a few time to get into it. As soon as you pop it in you get into it.
Great album
Great feel.
