The Violent Years 7" is POISON CONTROL’s first and in all likelihood,
their last release. Though this Boston band has already called it
quits, the four tracks are sure to leave folks wanting more. Featuring
ex-CUT THE SHIT members. Solid mid-tempo US hardcore. Europeans should
be warned that there is a swastika and an image of Hitler on the front
cover.

Solid mid tempo punk. Catchy and quick. It would have been fun to see what else this band would have released, but at least they got something out. I live Cut The Shit and even though this band is not as good as them, it's great to see that members of Cut The Shit stayed with the same type of music. Great price too. Worth the money and checking out.

These guys are in a similar mould to their fellow Bostonians, SOCIAL CIRKLE ie old-style hardcore, though a good bit less thrashy, taking a more punky style that allows the tunes to break through. Has an early BLACK FLAG feel to it (how's that for a lazy comparison?!) which is good news in my book. The last track slows things down further to give the track a melancholy feel. Would have liked to hear more from these guys, but they seem to have broken up. A real pity as they certainly had the goods. Nice provocative cover as well!!
