What is it with these old skate punk bands that just don't do it for me like they used to? It's not as if the instruments aren't tight, or good, or fast; in fact, it's quite the opposite. The music sounds great. Unfortunately, the songs have no heart which results in the lack of adrenaline these kinds of bands used to produce in a crowd. I'm not saying that I expect bands like these, that have songs with ridiculous lyrics to make me feel emo or anything; it's just that lazy singing makes the music seem generic. It's almost as if the singer doesn't believe what he's singing. Great sound, boring lyrics, lazy singing.

This album kicks ass! After a couple of weak releases,D.I. is back! It rips from the opening song(On the western front) and keeps on ripping till its done. They seem to strip some of the layers back musically and get back to that great DI sound. Of course Casey remains Casey( and thats a good thing)All fans of the southern cal/oc punk sound should pick this up. As of course any DI fan will love this. On the Westen Front/OC's Burning/Gutters of Paradise/Just Like You are standout songs. But then again thats a tough call, since I love every song on this album. Just for good measure they throw in the classic fatso nero on this album. So buy this now!

This is how hardcore used to be before the big labels and big money got involved - fast and furious, down and dirty. Lyrically, Casey comes out swinging at the usual targets but this sounds fresher and more relevant than anything that has come out recently. Casey may be the only original member left, but this album captures the spirit of early 80s hardcore more than anything I've heard in a while, and it's a solid outing - there are a few truly great songs and no bad ones. Put this up against Sum 41, Rise Against, or whatever bullshit it is that people listen to nowadays and it is hilarious. Highly recommended. O.C. is burning......rock on Casey.

not exactly what i was expecting, its not bad, but its not realy the sound of D.I. that ive come to know and love. This release kinda reminds me of later Bad Religion, like middle years Bad Religion. So not terrible, but if your going to get your first D.I. release, id recoment "horse bites, dog cries".
