No Use For A Name

All The Best Songs

Fat Wreck Chords 690

Released on July 10, 2007

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

With over two decades behind them, NO USE FOR A NAME stand strong as leaders in a genre of punk rock that they helped to define. As one of Fat Wreck Chords flagship bands, we thought it high time to put together a collection of the songs that truly exemplify their body of work. Calling this release a “greatest hits” seemed a bit pretentious and boring, so after much deliberation a title was constructed that could not only hold it’s own amongst other NUFAN album titles, but also provides truth in advertising, All The Best Songs. Compiling a track listing was another task in itself, but after some serious soul searching and countless round robin e-mails with the band, we were able to select 24 of their finest tunes. Thinking that we should up the ante a bit, we’ve also included two unreleased tracks for a total of 26 songs! The packaging of All The Best Songs is chock full of photos from every era of the band, their world travels, stories from members past and present, and even a couple of rants from Rory and Tony’s moms! Both die-hard and casual fans of NO USE FOR A NAME will find this to be an essential release!

A pretty good No Use "mixtape". It's not exactly ALL of the best songs though, as is not uncommon with best of CDs. I would probably replace a couple songs with others. The two unreleased tracks are pretty good. It's a pretty good way to get into them, I think. But after that get some of their other stuff, cuz as I said some of their other best songs are missing. Geesh.

I liked No Use For A Name before this album, but I never really listened to them much. So many albums, so many songs I couldn't really latch onto them late into the game.

This album has changed all that. I love it and I can't stop listening to it. It's made me realize how amazing this band actually is. Catchy songs with great lyrics. If you are not familar with No Use For A Name, this is a great album to get. You'll surely find that you can't get enough of them.

This is Saul, not Marilyn.

I don't know if this is "All the Best Songs", look at the tracklisting and decide that for yourself. Like all best of... albums (except for the ones from bands that only had one good song), it it better to just buy the albums than a handful of songs that have been decided as most popular.

The booklet is pretty cool with various members (most Tony) writing about the songs and also people like their moms and Fat Mike writing about No Use. The two unreleased songs haven't grown on me yet, they are pretty good, but not amazing.
