Hailing from Portland, OR, this upbeat three-piece has quickly established themselves as local favorites, and have been touring extensively in the US, Europe, and just recently, South America in their short history. In addition to having two full lengths (Smartguy Records) and a handful of 7"s, their frenetic live act , channelling the late-'70s LA-style punk rock attitude of, brevity, urgency, and punchy pop hooks, will have you floored. Produced by Pat Kearns (Exploding Hearts), J’aime Les Filles “steps up to the abandoned punk plate and hits a grand slam out of the pop music park...”

I love this brand new Cd from Portland Clorox Girls. This one is really influenced by the punk, pop garage french scene. First the title refer to Jacques Dutronc's song but they also cover «banana split» from france female pop act LIO. You can also trace some inlfuence of STARSHOOTER and LES CALAMITÉS from france and there is definetely a PLASTIC BERTRAND feeling in some of the songs. A great release with really good songs like «Flower of evil», «caught in the middle» and «Straight to my heart».

I saw this band play a week ago and they didn't have any CD's, so I bought it here. Live they were a very explosive new/wave punk rock band. They were great. However when I was listening to this CD, I was floored with how different the songs actually sound. Don't get me wrong, I love the CD. However, on the recording the album sounds like a quiet/hollow sounding 60's pop record...not the monster power chord band I had just seen. Anyways, they are great live and their albums are great too. They are on tour right now, so go see them play.
