Formed in 1997 in Boston, ANODYNE is one of heavy music's most refreshing bands. Created from the ashes of several projects that they wish to remain nameless, ANODYNE did not fully establish their sound until they relocated to New York City in 2001. Fusing the energetic punk attack of BLACK FLAG with the ferocious metal delivery of EMPEROR and the dismal perspectives of JOY DIVISION, ANODYNE stands out as one of the most original heavy acts today. With production close to home by guitarist/vocalist Mike Hill, the band is able to really shine on recording as they always do in a live format. With previous releases on Escape Artist, Happy Couples Never Last, and Chainsaw Safety among others, ANODYNE has been found on nearly every currently viable punk label. Finding a new home with Level-Plane's expanding line-up including AIR CONDITIONING and the ONE AM RADIO, ANODYNE continues the aural paradigm of the Level-Plane listener. Known for unbelievably tight and pummeling live shows, ANODYNE has amassed a large following throughout the United States and Europe by way of perpetual touring. They will continue their touring for a month in Europe in spring and return home for more touring of the United States throughout this summer. They have shared the stage with acts ranging from PG99 to YAPHET KOTTO to BREATHER RESIST.
