A Senile Animal

Ipecac 82.2

Released on October 10, 2006

The Melvins release a lot of records. (A) Senile Animal will stand up as one of the best of their career. They have double everything this time. Double drums. double, triple and even quadruple vocals. Quite possibly the HEAVIEST MELVINS album EVER. Old school fans will flip when they hear it. Awesome 12 page booklet designed by the great Mackie Osborne (TOOL, Melvins, etc.).

This is the Melvins first non-collaboration in a few years and its pretty fucking great. I don't know if its their heaviest release ever, but its definitely one of their best. The addition of a new rhythm section (including a 2nd drummer) only makes things better for these guys, and they were pretty damn good to begin with. If you are a Melvins fan, do not pass this up.
