Curse

Victory 218

Released on June 29, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

The Curse explores themes of isolation and paranoia, memory and immortality as well as power and potency. Songs like The Crimson explore vampiric immortality, while The Remembrance Ballad is a meditation on the brevity of life. "A lot has happened in the past two years, and I started realizing that I will die, that I can’t control it, so I started thinking about my choices while I am living this life, and on trying to break everything down and build back up into a person I can be proud of", Alex explained. My Sanity On The Funeral Pyre explores the harsh battle between paranoia and peace of mind, in stark contrast with You Eclipsed By Me, a howling roar of determination and strength of will in the face of adversity. The first single from The Curse will be hitting television and radio airwaves this summer. Right Side Of The Bed reigns as one of the most personal songs on the album according to Alex. "There is so much contrast in the song, it’s a total rock song, but the lyrics reflect pure pain for me -- regret and misery aren’t usually presented in that context, but it just worked well for us."

This is a good cd if you like the softer sound of metal, good guitar riffs, drummer needs to improve a little, almost the same beat for every song gets very annoying after a while. Overall this cd isn't bad, their other on is a little bit better

It takes I while to get used to it, cause it's different from "suicide notes...". It's more melodic, and more metal than their last cd, and at first I was a little dissapointed. But this is a great cd, and it gets better every time I hear it. "Bleeding Mascara" is one of the best songs I've ever heard.

Suicide Kisses and Butterfly Notes is better. Buy that one first. This CD is good though. It's just that I would choose the SKBN over Curse anyday.

This cd is the Atreyu I looked forward to in this release.Dark and demented lyrics.Beautifully written music. The drummers vocals have improved dramatically since "Butterfly Kisses..."My favorite tracks are "Bleeding Mascara", "You Eclipsed By Me", "The Rememberance Ballad", fuck, the entire album is amazing.I would command everyone I know to buy this album as soon as possible.

hmmmmmm.. the production is allot better and they have improved musically. but this album isn't better than the old one. i think the sound has improved, but the songwriting/originality has dropped. so it kinda stays on the same level as the old one. it still rules.

This C.D fucking rocks my socks. I think it's alot better than Butterfly Kisses and also Alex's screaming has really really improved. This is, without a doubt, one of my favorite C.D's that have come out this year. So go fucking buy it.....wanker.
