After having stepped up a gear with every previous
album, Polish death metallers Decapitated have now
hit top speed and completely defined their own
sound of blistering drumming complete with complex
riffs and the usual unintelligible lyrics you'd
expect from any Eastern European band trying
vainly to scale a language barrier. Over the
course of four albums they've never once sounded
dull or similar to any other bands out there and
have been partially responsible for the recent
resurgence of death metal. However, this isn't
the sort of watered-down screaming nonsense you'd
expect to find the bush-dodging brigade praising
over on MySpace. It's almost worrying to think
that the band is still in their early twenties,
and yet they still sound as brutal, inspiring and
deadly serious as ever.
