In the vein of Rage Against the Machine and System of a Down, Protest the Hero blend intelligent, politically, and socially aware songs with technically intricate musicianship. Almost two years in the making, ‘Kezia’ (the band’s first full length) is a “situational requiem” similar to a concept album in that it tells a story. ‘Kezia’ is an elegy of a young woman’s execution, chronicled from the perspective of three different characters. Protest the Hero is one of those bands that are here to challenge the standards of the current state of music and leave their mark on the scene forever.
